Please join us on Friday October 25, 2024 for the Spooky Spring 5K Run/Walk being brought to you by Grand Island High School. We are also offering a 1/4 mile Kids Fun Run at 6pm for kids 10 and under. All fun run participants will receive a custom finisher medal and light snacks after the race.
The race is being brought to you by the Grand Island DECA (Business Education Club) with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Network of WNY! Participants are encouraged to wear halloween costumes!
START/FINISH
The 5K Run/Walk will start and finish at Veterans Park on Grand Island using USATF certified course #NY23026JJ (VIEW MAP). There will be one water station located at the midpoint and bottled water along with light snacks will be available at the finish line.

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP
Online registration will remain open right up until race day and early registration is encouraged. Packet pickup will take place at Veterans Park starting at 3:30pm right up until the start of the race at 5:15 pm. All 5K Run/Walk participants who register by October 18th at 9:00 am are guaranteed to receive an official race shirt in their requested size. A small quantity of extra shirts will be ordered and distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are gone. Kids Fun Run participants will receive a finisher medal (shirts not included).

POST RACE CELEBRATION
The post race celebration and awards ceremony will take place at Veterans Park after the race. There will be finish line music, light snacks, and the awards ceremony. Race organizers are also looking to have a food truck on site for those who wish to purchase food (optional).

There will be plenty of free parking at the park!
AGE GROUPS & AWARDS
Trophies will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female 5K finishers. Age group winners will also be announced and presented with a special gift item.

CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event of foul weather, public safety concerns, or for any other reason deemed necessary by race organizers (ex: state of emergency, shelter-in-place, limit on social gatherings, etc), we want runners to know up front that we reserve the right to reschedule the event OR convert this to a virtual 5K race. There will be no refunds.
TIMING & FINISH LINE SERVICES
Professional timing and finish line services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results are updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
